COMPLIANCE UPDATE: Mandatory vehicle inspection for passenger buses

In line with the recent Government directive, passenger bus operators are currently reporting to the Namanve Motor Vehicle Inspection Centre for the mandatory inspection of their fleet.

Purpose of the Exercise

The inspection is aimed at ensuring that all passenger buses operating on public roads meet the required safety and roadworthiness standards. Key focus areas include braking systems, tyre conditions, lighting systems, and overall mechanical integrity.

This initiative is intended to reduce road traffic crashes associated with mechanical failures and to enhance the safety of all road users.

The Ministry of Works and Transport will continue to provide oversight and guidance throughout the exercise to ensure full compliance across the sector.
