Edson Mungyereza eyes Garuga sprint after dominant win at Sisa Autocross

Fresh off a commanding victory at the Sisa Autocross along Entebbe Road, Subaru GVB driver Edson Mungyereza is now turning his attention to this weekend’s Garuga Premier Sprint. With confidence high and momentum on his side, Mungyereza is determined to deliver yet another stellar performance.
At Sisa, Mungyereza impressed fans and competitors alike by clocking a remarkable time of 7 minutes, 25.3 seconds, comfortably sealing his spot at the top of the leaderboard.
“Trust me, I will be up for another good performance. Let them pair me with anyone that day,” he said confidently.
Garuga sprint: The next big test
The Garuga Sprint marks the second round of the National Sprint Championship, attracting over 40 top drivers from across the country. The event follows a thrilling first round last month, won by Subaru N10 driver Oscar Ntambi, who currently leads the championship standings.
For Mungyereza and many others, Garuga is more than just a points battle it’s a vital chance to fine-tune performance ahead of the National Rally Championship (NRC) Round Five, set for August.
Motocross championship heats up the track
Adding excitement to the day, the sixth round of the National Motocross Championship will serve as the curtain-raiser. Over 50 riders are expected to take part, with fans particularly eager to watch the Makumbi siblings in action.
