Uganda Cranes name 26-man squad for CECAFA 4 nations tournament

The Uganda Cranes have confirmed their 26-man squad for the CECAFA 4 Nations Tournament, which kicks off this week in Arusha, Tanzania. Co-head coaches Morley Byekwaso and Fred Muhumuza finalized the list before the team departed for Arusha early this morning.
Three players, goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo, midfielder Shamir Kimwero, and defender Ronald Otti have been dropped from the provisional training camp roster.
Tournament overview and purpose
The regional tournament features Uganda, hosts Tanzania, Kenya, and guest nation Senegal. While the competition brings regional pride, it also plays a vital role in preparing teams for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
