8 talented riders set to conquer junior Motocross World Championship in France

A wave of excitement and national pride is sweeping through Uganda’s motocross community as eight young riders gear up to represent the country at the 2025 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, taking place from July 5–6 in Romagné, France.

The team was officially flagged off by the National Council of Sports (NCS) and the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) in a spirited ceremony, marking Uganda’s continued commitment to nurturing young motorsport talent on the global stage.

This year’s Ugandan contingent will compete across three competitive classes:

  • 125cc Class: Dan Mitima, Jerome Junior Mubiru
  • 85cc Class: Adam Kabuye, Isaac Mutima, Jonathan Semakula Katende, Miguel Katende
  • 65cc Class: Ethan Paul Musede, Jamairah Makumbi

In a particularly inspiring highlight, Jamairah Makumbi will make her international debut in the 65cc category. As the team’s only female rider, her presence not only breaks gender barriers but also shines a light on the growing inclusivity within Uganda’s motorsport scene.

The FIM Junior Motocross World Championship is widely regarded as the premier global event for young riders.

Beyond the high-stakes racing, it offers an invaluable platform for participants to gain international exposure, exchange experiences with peers from around the world, and develop their skills in a highly competitive environment.

For Team Uganda, the championship is more than just medals and lap times, it’s a powerful opportunity to fly the national flag high, push personal and professional limits, and dream bigger.

Uganda’s consistent participation in this prestigious event signals the country’s rising passion for motocross.

With increasing support from institutions like NCS and FMU, the future looks bright for these young athletes who are not only racing for victory, but also for the pride and promise of their nation.
