Africa rally championship title race intensifies at mountain gorilla rally in Rwanda

The battle for the Africa Rally Championship (ARC) title heats up this weekend as contenders converge on Rwanda for Round 3: the Mountain Gorilla Rally. Six registered ARC crews will vie for crucial points on the challenging Rwandan terrain.

Yasin Nasser / Ali Katumba (Uganda, Ford Fiesta Rally2):
The current ARC leaders, with 63 points, arrive with a target on their backs. To retain their top spot, the Moil Rally Team duo must secure another podium finish in Rwanda.

Nikhil Sachania / Deep Patel (Kenya, Ford Fiesta Rally3):
Hot on the leaders’ heels, just 13 points behind, their remarkable consistency makes them strong favorites for maximum points in both the overall ARC and the ARC3 category.

Samman Vohra / Drew Sturrock (Kenya, Škoda Fabia Rally2):
Eager to build on their promising pace shown during May’s Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally. Despite an early exit there, Vohra’s speed was evident. He returns firmly focused on collecting vital ARC points.

Karan Patel / Tauseef Khan (Kenya, Škoda Fabia Rally2):
The reigning ARC champions, currently sitting on 35 points, are always a threat. They head to Rwanda with clear intentions of adding another victory to their record.

Michael Mukula (Uganda) & Prince Charles Nyerere (Tanzania):
Both drivers join the fray primarily targeting maximum points in the ARC2 category.

The competitive action kicks off on Saturday, featuring 15 special stages run over two days. Crews will tackle a demanding total competitive distance of 236.30 kilometers.
