CAF announces 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) fixtures

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the official match schedule for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), outlining dates and kickoff times from the group stage through to the final.

The tournament kicks off on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, with Tanzania taking on Burkina Faso at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. Tanzania is co-hosting the biennial competition alongside neighboring East African nations Uganda and Kenya.

Uganda, placed in Group C, will open their campaign against Algeria—hosts and finalists of the previous edition on Monday, 4th August 2025, at 8 PM (EAT) at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala. Earlier that day, Niger will face Guinea in the same group.

Uganda’s Group Stage Fixtures:

  • 8th August 2025: Guinea vs. Uganda – 8 PM (EAT)
  • 11th August 2025: Uganda vs. Niger – 8 PM (EAT)
  • 18th August 2025: South Africa vs. Uganda – 8 PM (EAT)

The group stage concludes on 19th August, with the quarterfinals scheduled for 22nd and 23rd August.

Knockout stage and venues

Mandela National Stadium will host:

  • One quarterfinal
  • One semifinal
  • The third-place playoff

The semifinals are set for 26th August, followed by the third-place playoff on 29th August.
The final will be played on 30th August at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, Kenya.
