Big Bang racing’s young crew targets talent building

In a strategic move to develop emerging talent, Big Bang Racing has prioritized young navigators within its roster. This commitment was evident at the recent FMU Sprint Championship, where the team debuted rookie navigator Wekamp Eva Luiz. Piloting a Subaru GC8, the new pairing demonstrated impressive pace before securing victory in the CRC class.
Denis Bahizi confirmed that the Subaru GC8 will remain his primary car for the remainder of the season, citing its superior performance.
“The GC8 has delivered the results we need,” Bahizi stated, contrasting it with the Subaru N12 driven by his brother, Sean Bahizi. Both drivers are confirmed for the team’s next competitive outing at the upcoming event in Fortportal next month.
Meanwhile, Bahizi will participate in the annual Drivers’ Day Out in Kalangala. The event, designed to strengthen team cohesion, offers Bahizi crucial track time to build synergy with his new navigator.
Drivers’ Day Out is a unique annual event that blends fan engagement with competition, where drivers meet supporters before contesting a one-day trophy challenge.
Notably, a competitor must win the event three times before claiming permanent ownership of the trophy. Reigning champion Peter Kalule has won the last two consecutive editions, positioning him for a potential permanent claim this year. The 2025 event commences on August 9th, with 15 crews already registered.
