“The Go-Kart Assassin”: Can Kevin Bebeto defend his crown as Uganda’s Reigning speed king?

At just 20 years old, Kevin Bebeto has earned the fierce nickname “The Go-Kart Assassin”, and for good reason. Known for his ruthless precision and relentless pace on the track, Bebeto has become a rising star in Ugandan motorsport.

He doesn’t just dominate go-kart circuits he’s also ranked third in Uganda’s CRC National Championship, where he shreds rally stages in his Pro-Drive Subaru N10.

The 2024 championship triumph

Bebeto’s defining moment came last year when he captured the title at Uganda’s inaugural National Go-Kart Championship. But the road to glory wasn’t smooth.

After finishing second in the season opener a result he attributed to inconsistent kart specifications, Bebeto bounced back with unmatched focus and intensity.

Fueled by determination, he clawed his way to the top, proving that setbacks only sharpen a true competitor.

The bebeto-ranjit racing dynasty

Racing is in his blood. Bebeto’s rise has been guided by his uncle and mentor, Kuku Ranjit — a respected motorsport veteran and vocal champion of karting development in Uganda. Although Ranjit never got the chance to race in karts during his own career, he firmly believes it’s the foundation of greatness.

“Karting is where champions are forged,” says Ranjit. “The lightweight frames, razor-sharp handling; it’s the perfect high-speed classroom for future pros.”

Under his uncle’s watchful eye, Bebeto sharpened his skills early, building the confidence and control that now define his racing style.

Next Stop: Global Domination?

With upcoming international fixtures scheduled in Dubai and Malaysia, Bebeto’s talent is beginning to draw global attention.

Motorsport insiders, like Ibrahim Kyaluzi, a Dubai-based karting official, believe Bebeto’s cross-discipline success makes him a standout.

“His seamless transition from kart to rally car proves how vital karting is,” says Kyaluzi. “Watch him, his performance spikes after kart events speak for themselves. The world stage will separate the contenders from the pretenders.”

The future of Ugandan motorsport? It’s Bebeto.

With raw talent, generational expertise, and an unstoppable drive, Kevin Bebeto isn’t just racing; he’s rewriting Uganda’s motorsport legacy.

Whether he’s carving corners in a go-kart or ripping through rally routes, one thing is clear: Uganda’s speed king is just getting started.
