Zeljko takes the reins! SC Villa appoints Serbian tactician as new head coach
Uganda Premier League record champions, SC Villa, has confirmed Kovacevic Zeljko as their new head coach with immediate effect. The announcement was confirmed in a statement via the club’s official social media platforms today, Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
“SC Villa, Uganda’s record football champions, is delighted to announce the appointment of Kovacevic Zeljko as the new club head coach,” the statement partly reads.
The Serbian gaffer holds huge 12-year career experience that has tested and shaped him ahead of the hot seat as head coach at SC Villa. Even though he played as a defender, the gaffer is regarded as one of the decent tacticians who meets the demands of modern football.
According to the statement, SC Villa has promised to support the gaffer so that he meets his targets and the club’s aspirations within the shortest time possible.
The appointment ends the speculation after the discontinuation of contractual negotiations with another Serbian coach, Nemanja Milincic.
