Uganda Premier League side URA Football Club has officially announced the signing of forward Fred Amaku on a two-year contract.
The 27-year-old joins the Tax Collectors as a free agent after leaving Kitara FC during the ongoing transfer window. The club confirmed the acquisition in a statement on their official website on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
“URA FC is delighted to announce the signing of prolific forward Fred Amaku,” the statement read.
Amaku expressed his excitement about the move, calling it a major milestone in his career.
“Joining URA FC is a big step, and I’m truly excited about this new challenge. This is a club with great ambition and tradition, and I want to contribute to its success story,” Amaku said.
“I’m here to work hard, score goals, and help the team compete at the highest level. My target is simple: hit double figures in goals, deliver key performances, and make the fans proud,” he added.
URA secured Amaku’s signature despite strong competition from former club Maroons FC and Kitara, who had hoped to retain him.
The striker becomes URA’s third signing of the transfer window, following forward Kabon Living and goalkeeper Chrispas Kusiima.
