Uganda makes a successful debut at Gulfood 2026

Uganda participated in Gulfood for the first time from 26–30 January 2026, exhibiting under the Made in Uganda brand. The debut marked an important milestone, with the Uganda pavilion attracting strong interest from buyers, distributors, investors, and industry leaders from the Middle East and other international markets.

The exhibition highlighted Uganda’s growing strength in value addition, with significant interest in coffee, cocoa, spices, avocado oil, and dried fruits. The quality of products, branding, and innovation on display reflected Uganda’s transition from exporting raw commodities to supplying processed, market-ready products that meet international standards.

The participation was led by H.E. Ambassador Aisa Ismail, with support from Counsellor Erina Zalwango, Counsellor Jeff Bayiga, and First Secretary Ms. Asha Nabbanja, whose coordinated efforts played a key role in promoting Uganda’s trade and export potential during the exhibition.

Critical facilitation was provided by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero. The Ministry’s commitment and technical support ensured a well-presented pavilion, strong product showcasing, and effective production support.

Uganda’s first appearance at Gulfood strengthens its economic and commercial diplomacy efforts and reinforces the growing global presence of the Made in Uganda brand.
