Uganda Cranes face must-win clash against Guinea in CHAN group C showdown

The Uganda Cranes face a must-win situation in their second Group C match of the ongoing TotalEnergies Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) as they take on Guinea this Friday. After a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Algeria in their opener at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, another loss could spell early elimination for the hosts.

Guinea, meanwhile, come into the match with confidence after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Niger. However, their coach, Souleymane Camara, remains cautious, acknowledging that the Cranes—desperate for redemption—will be a wounded but dangerous opponent.

Uganda can draw inspiration from their recent 1-0 victory over Guinea during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers earlier this year, also held at Namboole. A win this time would reignite their CHAN campaign and throw Group C wide open, while a defeat would likely extend their history of underwhelming performances in the tournament.

In the early kickoff, African giants South Africa and Algeria will face off at the same venue in a highly anticipated encounter.

Uganda Cranes probable XI:
Mutakubwa (GK), Gavin, Mwere, Odong, Torach, Sserunjogi, Watambala, Ssebagala, Okello, Sentamu, Kakande
