Umuhanzikazi Musabyimana Gloriose
The Rwandan gospel fraternity is in mourning following the sudden death of beloved singer Musabyimana Gloriose, popularly known as Gogo. The celebrated gospel voice passed away on the night of September 3, 2025, in Uganda after a short illness.
According to a medical report from Kyegera Doctors Center, Gogo was pronounced dead upon arrival at the facility. Close friend and fellow gospel minister Bikem Uwayesu, who was with her in Uganda, confirmed the heartbreaking news.
Gogo had left Rwanda on August 28 to attend a gospel crusade in Mbarara, which ran from August 29–31. After the event, she and her team traveled to Kampala for a promotional engagement. However, shortly after arriving in the city, Gogo fell ill, and her condition rapidly deteriorated.
“She was rushed to the hospital, but sadly, she didn’t make it,” Uwayesu shared.
Known for her powerful voice and uplifting message, Gogo was a shining star in Rwanda’s gospel music scene. Her songs inspired many with messages of faith, hope, and resilience. Fans across East Africa have already begun pouring in tributes, celebrating her life and legacy.
Gogo’s passing marks a painful moment for Rwanda’s entertainment industry, especially within the gospel community, where she had become a household name. Plans for her repatriation and funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon.
