Riders endure harsh conditions in Lira at National Motocross Championship round 7
It was a grueling day for riders in Lira as Round 7 of the Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship unfolded under tough conditions.
Heavy rains in the days leading up to the event left the track soaked with wet sand, creating a harsh and unforgiving environment for competitors across all classes. Riders had to dig deep, using every ounce of strength to navigate certain sections during practice and the opening heat on day one.
Clerk of the Course, Joseph Mwangala, admitted the track was extremely challenging and expressed hope that more rain would not fall to worsen the conditions.

Despite the demanding terrain, top riders showcased their resilience:
•MX1 Open Class: Fortune Ssentamu dominated.
•MX125cc: Gift Sebuguzi proved unchallenged.
•MX85cc: Miguel Katende reigned supreme.
•65cc: Ethan Paul Musede, backed by Amazon Seeds, was unmatched and clinched the National Championship title, benefiting from the absence of his closest challenger, Jude Kyle Musede.
With two heats still to come tomorrow, the riders will once again brace themselves for a fierce battle on Lira’s demanding track.
