IGP’s cup quarterfinals kick-off with exciting draws
AIGP Hadijah Namutebi, Director of Welfare, Production, and Sports, officially launched the draws for the quarterfinals of the second edition of the IGP’s Cup on September 1, 2025.
The draws were conducted at Police Headquarters in line with FUFA regulations and were supervised by FUFA’s Director of Competitions, Hajati Aisha Nalule. Eight teams representing the eight Police blocks will face off in knockout fixtures on September 16, 2025, at Wakisha Playground.
The grand finale is scheduled for September 19, 2025. It will take place at the newly constructed home of Police FC in Kira Road Police, Kamwokya. This event will also mark the official launch of the stadium.
During her speech, AIGP Namutebi urged the community to turn out in large numbers to support the games. She emphasized that the tournament aims to promote physical fitness, talent identification, and unity within the Force and the community.
The IGP’s Cup, featuring both football and netball, kicked off in November 2024 and is now in its second edition.
