FUFA opens investigation, provisionally suspends 3 Buhimba United Saints players

The Investigatory Chamber of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee has provisionally suspended three players of Buhimba United Saints FC for 90 days over their alleged involvement in the manipulation of football results.

The suspensions arise from an ongoing investigation into the match between Lugazi FC and Buhimba United Saints FC played on November 8, 2025. According to information gathered so far, the match is suspected to have been manipulated for betting purposes.

Following the receipt of information regarding the alleged manipulation, the Investigatory Chamber opened formal proceedings into the matter. FUFA stated that the conduct under investigation may also constitute a violation of the criminal provisions of the National Sports Act, and the matter will be reported to the Uganda Police for further action.

In line with Section 78 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code, the Chairperson of the Investigatory Chamber ordered the provisional suspension of the players pending the conclusion of the investigation, citing the need to protect the integrity of the competition.

The sanctioned players are:

  • Ayebale Moses
