Fort Portal Rally launched

The National Rally Championship (NRC) is heating up, and the Fort Portal Rally, the 5th round of the seven-event championship, was officially launched today at Supremacy Lounge Nankulabye. This event marks the third-last round, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown among top drivers.
Stakeholders in attendance
The launch was graced by key stakeholders, including drivers, fans, and sponsors. Notable attendees included 2010 champion Nasser Mutebi, who vowed to deliver an outstanding performance. Mutebi, driving a Mitsubishi Evo IX under the KCB Bank umbrella, promised an aggressive approach to honor his brand sponsor, alongside teammates Oscar Ntambia and Mike Mukula.
Route and safety assurance
Semwanga Ahmed, the Clerk of the Course, outlined the rally’s routes, ensuring a safe and exciting competition through the districts of Kyenjojo and Kabarole. The routes promise to test drivers’ skills and strategy.
Defending champion eyes a hat-trick
Omar Dauda, the defending champion, has won the Fort Portal Rally twice in a row (2023 and 2024) and will be aiming for a third consecutive victory. With the top three crews separated by fewer than 20 points, the championship battle is more intense than ever.
